Lynmouth Sailing Club have a number of ongoing Projects:
The Boathouse This will be a new building in the heart of Lynmouth, on the site of the original Lifeboat building. The Boathouse will house our Safety Boat 'Gilbey' and provide a conveinient store for other Sailing Club equipment and kit. Start on site is imminent!
Below is an artists impression of the new building.
Lighthouse Optic Building We have been fortunate to obtain an option to take on custodianship the magnificent historic bronze and cut glass optic from Foreland Point Lighthouse when it was replaced with a modern LED system last year. The new building will stand on the Manor Grounds in Lynmouth and be a great attraction for the village. Funsraising is ongoing for this so please get in toug=ch if this interests you.
Lynmouth Seawater Bathing Pool Lynmouth Sailing Club have partnered up with the Town Council to renovate and bring back into use the old seawater bathing pool on the western beach. This pool was originally formed from the old oyster beds and fishing weir, it was extremely popular in Edwardian times and we hope it will be so again very soon.
Currently we have undertaken an Ecology Study and are awaiting consent from North Devon District Council to take the project further.
